Today, I would like to introduce “Tsukesoba Kanda Katsumoto”, one of the most famous ramen shops located in the renowned district of Jimbocho.
It is just a 5-minute walk from Jimbocho station, and when I arrived at around 11:30 am, it was raining.
However, the shop was already packed.
As soon as I entered the shop, I was greeted by a pleasant aroma of soy sauce, which created a cozy atmosphere.
The owner was silently preparing the tsukemen, displaying the true workmanship of a craftsman.
The soup had a traditional Japanese style that reminded me of the dipping broth for soba noodles.
When I took a sip, the rich and well-balanced soy sauce flavor filled my mouth, and the aroma was so great that it aroused my appetite.
The shop offers two types of noodles, one is a thin noodle similar to soba, and the other is a standard thickness noodle.
When I tried the thin noodles, it felt like I was eating delicious Japanese cuisine at a soba noodle shop. On the other hand, when I tried the thicker noodles, it had the typical texture and satisfaction of a tsukemen noodle, with a great chewiness that perfectly matched with the soup.
The other ingredients were also fantastic, especially the chashu pork, which was tender and had a strong flavor.
Although the soy sauce-based soup is not the mainstream in the ramen industry, it is just as delicious as any other shop.
In the soy sauce-based soup category, it is probably the first or second best shop I have ever been to in Tokyo.
Although it is categorized as tsukemen, the appearance, depth of flavor, and satisfaction level are all exceptional.
Furthermore, it is located in a convenient area of Tokyo, making it easily accessible, so I highly recommend visiting this shop.
