Today, I went to “Fuunji” located in Tokyo Station.
Fuunji is a well-known ramen shop with its main store in Shinjuku. The Tokyo Station branch allows you to enjoy their famous tsukemen without having to go to Shinjuku.
The Fuunji at Tokyo Station is in “Tokyo Ramen Yokocho.” It’s located underground, visible once you exit the Yaesu North Exit.
Fuunji’s tsukemen is a classic seafood and pork bone broth tsukemen.
The presentation is refined, and the bowl for the dipping sauce is smaller compared to other shops.
Noodles Compared to other shops offering seafood and pork bone broth tsukemen, the noodles here are thinner.
The noodles are aesthetically pleasing and beautiful.
You can enjoy their texture even when eaten alone.
Soup The standout feature of this shop is undoubtedly the rich and flavorful soup.
It’s neither too watery nor too thick, striking a perfect balance. Despite its richness, the taste is elegant, and it pairs perfectly with the thin noodles, making it hard to stop eating.
This well-balanced soup is what characterizes Fuunji’s tsukemen. Additionally, you can tell that great care is taken with each ingredient, including the egg and meat.
Other Points Unlike typical ramen or tsukemen shops, many of the staff here are quite handsome. The manager, with his long brown hair, looks more like a bar manager than a tsukemen shop owner. However, their operations and instructions are precise, creating a sense of unity in the organization, which is another feature of this shop.
Being directly connected to Tokyo Station makes it very accessible. It’s one of my personal top picks for tsukemen. If you’re unsure about what to eat, I’d be delighted if you consider this place.
Thank you for reading to the end.
